Lily’s List, Inc was started by four moms concerned about the burden of student loan debt. We wanted to create a fun and smart way for kids to pay down their student loan debts by redirecting money slated for material gifts on birthdays and holidays, into monetary gifts directly deposited against their loans. Thank you for your interest; we’re glad you’re here!

My family is in the arts. Our son, Riley, recently graduated with a BFA in Photography, and our daughter, Lily, is off to a liberal arts college. When Lily and I were discussing the cost of college and the loans she would eventually incur, she was astonished. “How will I ever be able to pay off that amount of debt!” As an artist and actor for the past 30 years, I know all too well the challenges of finding consistent work in my field of interest. My advice to her was to maintain good grades and to apply for grants and scholarships.
Another thought was that, in lieu of future gifts from family and friends, she might ask for money instead, which she could use to pay off her loans. This idea took off in our imaginations, and Lily’s List was born!

When my oldest daughter finishes graduate school, she will have student loan debt equivalent to the mortgage on a small house! I find this daunting, but she has dreams and is willing to take the gamble. I want to make sure she and my other three college-bound children have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams. I’m a graduate of Lake Forest College and the University of Illinois, School of Allied Health Professions, and currently work as an occupational therapist in special education. In my spare time,
I’m a visual artist and volunteer at a local arts center. A good college education has been the foundation of a rich and satisfying life and I am very proud to be part of the Lily’s List team.

Beverly, MarketingOur two boys are growing up before my very eyes. Within just a few years, we will be looking at colleges and be faced with the reality of school loan debt. I’m excited to be a part of Lily’s List because I believe it will be a great tool for my own children. My previous experience was in sales and marketing and currently I work in music as a teacher and composer. My desire is that as we celebrate birthdays, holidays, and those all-important graduation days, Lily’s List will be a gift-giving alternative for my family and for yours.
Nancy, FinanceMy husband and I have two sons. We’ve been saving for their college educations since they were born, with no real confidence that what we’ve saved will be enough. This concern led to my involvement with Lily’s List. I am a graduate of Bradley University in Illinois, and after a career in state government, my life revolved around my family and volunteer and part-time work. I am dedicated to the mission of the Lily’s List network: Paying down student loans one gift at a time!
