An artist at heart, I knew from an early age that I wanted to do something creative for a living. Though my life has taken many twists and turns in 2004 after being in the working world for a while, I decided to enroll and finish my Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design (graduating in 2006). Three years later I started my own business and clothing line through a wonderful program that the city of Chicago sponsors. I quickly discovered in the 1st year of business - the importance of cash flow and also the pitfalls of starting a business during The Great Recession. Because small business lending through banks has been difficult I have no choice but to fund my business out of my own pocket. That being said I realize this task would be a lot easier if my hefty monthly student loan payment was reduced significantly. Which leads me to this site.
